Nika

On 8/25/24 we suddenly and tragically said goodbye to our darling Nika. She immediately stole my heart the day we picked her up (2/22/24) in Spokane, WA, mere days after losing our greyhound Hare to bone cancer. She handled the 19 Hour drive like a pro, and gradually adjusted to life in Minnesota. Nika had been through a lot, losing her father of 10 years, but I believe I was able to gain her trust in the 6 months we had together. We found a lot of comfort in each other. Nika was fiercely loving, silly, sassy, independent, and affectionate. She never turned down a good butt scratch or blueberry. She loved taking short walks around the neighborhood, keeping an eye on all the happenings. She lit up anytime she saw her dad and would run over to him to present her rear end for scratching. She quickly claimed my walk in closet as her personal coop, and spent a lot of time snoozing by the air vent, enjoying life as a 10 year old lady. She would emerge with the jingle of a leash, the smell of food cooking, or the crinkle of a treat bag. She was young at heart, and so full of life and love. I hope she knows how she helped pick up the shattered pieces of my heart. Mom and dad love you little chicken, and would do it all over again in a heartbeat. We will see you again over the rainbow bridge. Natalie Sinn
