Veruschka

NBRF’s Veruschka:
She came to our home at 2 years old, after a friend happened upon her photo on the NBRF site. Her name is Russian and I took it from the name of an unusually tall model who was famous in the 1960’s-1970’s. She was as tall as a male dog so the name seemed fitting.
Rouschie was deaf but so good at reading body language that it was not apparent at first. She was my muse for many paintings and adored by all in the neighborhood as the “Queen” or “Her Ladyship”.
We had 10 beautiful years together but I wished for many more. Our time together is never long enough. Barbara Tyler Ahlfield/September 2023
