Kate

We would like to start by thanking NBRF for allowing us the opportunity to have Kate in our lives, she was deeply rooted in our family, and we all miss her very much. Kate came to us in December of 2012 from the Midwest where she was raised on a farm and did not assimilate well to that lifestyle. Through the generosity and hard work of volunteers, Kate was transported from Indiana to Washington D.C. She joined our household of two adults, two teenagers, and two greyhounds where we resided in Southern Maryland.
Kate was a looker; she was big, even for a borzoi, red and white, and was the center of attention wherever she went. We took her to many places as we loved to travel and camp across the east coast. She would go wine tasting with us, go for hikes, and she even made it to Niagara Falls where she was such a hit, it was almost disruptive.
Kate loved to sit outside and watch for deer, romping with the greyhounds, and playing in the snow. But most of all, she loved relaxing and laying around the house… looking very regal in only the way a Borzoi can.
Kate was gentle and loving; she loved the whole family, humans and dogs alike. Our male greyhound, Larson, loved Kate so much, he would sleep next to her for hours.
We were very fortunate; we had Kate for a very long time. We got her when she was just over a year old and she left us just short of her 14th birthday… We miss her very much. Elizabeth Archer
